Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd., the world leader in advanced semiconductor technology, announced that it has begun mass producing 256 gigabyte (GB) solid state drives for use in notebooks and desktop PCs. With the addition of the high-speed 256GB drive, Samsung now offers the most extensive line of SSDs in the industry with 8, 16, and 32GB SSDs for low-density designs and 64, 128 and 256GB alternatives for the higher densities. The new 256GB SSD more than doubles the performance rates of Samsung 64GB and 128GB SSDs to become the SSD with the highest overall performance in the personal computer industry, combining sequential read rates of 220MB/s (megabytes per second) with sequential write rates of 200MB/s. This sharply narrows the performance gap between read and write operations to only 10 percent, compared to a read-write speed difference of between 20 and 70 percent for other SSDs. THIS Sony Ericsson Wireless Home Audio System was featuring a monochrome OLED display with touch controls, the MBS-900 can sync with select Sony Ericsson products to stream Bluetooth A2DP and AVRCP. In other words, it can play your phone's music while the cellphone works as a remote. The systems's diameter is just shy of eight inches. It packs a 2.1 speaker system (2x10W and 20W subwoofer) that can play audio from FM or 3.5mm jack when your phone isn't around. It also doubles as a speaker phone that auto-mutes as calls come in. The G1 is the first handset to run on the Android operating system, It isn't the prettiest of handsets. The slide-out qwerty keypad delivers a cracking noise, and gives it a very Sidekick look. At 3.2-inches, or 320 x 480 resolution, the screen could do with a brighten-up. Of course it's touchscreen. There are three ways to control the G1, with the touchscreen, qwerty keypad or trackball, the latter not really proving necessary, as the touchscreen is the preferred method of input. With the web browser proving so addictive, it's expected the battery life will be fairly poor. The quoted standby time is 130 hours, talktime is listed as 5 hours. The 3.2-megapixel camera produces some nice photos, not particularly great standard, but just what you've come to expect from a mobile phone. AT&T’s Samsung Epix could easily be called the BlackJack III: It has a similar design to both the BlackJack and BlackJack II, but adds a few new features, including Wi-Fi, and its Windows Mobile 6.1 Professional operating system takes advantage of the device’s touchscreen, the new built-in optical mouse and faster 624-MHz processor. The Epix is certainly a step up from the BlackJack II but, at $199, it also costs $50 more than the BlackJack II did when it first hit store shelves. (via laptopmag.com )

They’re completely overhauling the Xbox 360 firmware with a free update called the New Xbox Experience (NXE) that hits consoles on November 19th. Functionally, it's hiding at least one killer app. Visually, it’s a bigger jump than Windows XP to Windows Vista. Given that NXE is a mandatory update for anyone on Xbox Live, it's a good thing we really, really liked it.

RIM or Research In Motion Ltd. announced the first BlackBerry that folds up, BlackBerry Pearl Flip 8220. It will be available from T-Mobile USA later this year for an undisclosed price. The Pearl Flip coming in three color schemes: black, red and silver (gray). BlackBerry flip phone weighing just 3.6-ounces and boasting a 320 x 240 internal display, Bluetooth 2.0, built-in multimedia player, 802.11b/g WiFi and a SureType keypad. The battery promises four hours of talk time / over a fortnight of standby life.
